Links connect a web site to another page on the same site, or another page anywhere on the web! Let me give you a sample link.

<A HREF=" http://www.somewhere.com "> Somewhere <:/A>

Remember, the yellow letters are the variables. In the first part <A HREF=" http://www.somewhere.com "> , substitute the url (address) of the page you wish to link to.

In the second part Somewhere <:/A> , substitute the word or words that you wish to display as the underlined link.

Use an image as a link, if you like. See the following example:

<A HREF=" rover.jpg "><IMG SRC=" roversmall.jpg "><:/A>

To use the smaller image, roversmall.jpg as a link to the larger image, rover.jpg , you will need both the small and the large images uploaded to your web site.

Open the link in a new window, if you like. See the following example:

<A HREF=" http://www.somewhere.com " TARGET="_window"> Somewhere "</A;>

Opening a link in a new window allows the viewer to keep your page open, while viewing what you linked to. When they are done viewing the other page, they can close the new window and be back viewing your site.

E-mail links are very similiar, so I will include a sample here.

<A HREF="mailto: you@somewhere.com "> E-mail me here </A>

Substitute your email address for you@somewhere.com . Substitute whatever you like for E-mail me here . That is what viewers will click on if they wish to e-mail you.
